Gauges
I just found out the other day in a junkyard my buddy owns, he has a 61 Chevy, used to be an old tractor trailer style truck, so guessing a C60?? Anyways, it has the factory gauges along with a factory tach. The dash is the same as my 62 'burban, but will the gauges and stuff work in my truck?? I don't see why they wouldn't, but don't know alot about that sort of thing. If I decide not to use the gauges/tach, how much do they do for?? Could always use the extra money.....

The dash will work in your truck. You will need to pull the wiring harness for the dash panel as well as the tach transmitter from under the hood. You really should have the factory schematic, in case either truck has been molested. The truck in the junkyard could be an LCF or COE, I'm not sure what the dash in those would look like. btw the a working tach dash would go for $200 plus on Ebay.

I know it's not a COE, I know what they look like. It looks like the big brother to the Apache's of that year. I don't think too much was molested on either, just the dip**** that had the truck before me did some stupid stuff to it. I will post some pics of the dash and the current condition on my burban. I can't wait to get this this going. I'm really thinking about selling my car, something that I thought I would never do, to help finance the truck. But the way I look at it, there are alot more 78-up Malibu's out there than pre 66 Suburbans. Thinking about taking the motor/trans out of the car to put in it. That would be nice to have an alum headed 468 in a 4wd. I would roast the 33s off like they aren't there.....

We will have to put the PO on the "Truck Molesters List". What you do with the 78 is up to you, but it sounds like at some point your not going to have a runner. I saw a 59 F*rd w/300 six beat the truck your talking about building. The old guy parked it and got out a "ComeAlong", but that's another story.
