Longhorn question

I just bought a 69 GMC Longhorn. 396/thm400, tach dash, Dana 60, yada yada.
Original owner until a month ago. Seems unmolested. My question is: Didn't GMC's get Longhorn emblems? Or displacement badges? No sign of repair under the rear marker light where I expected "LongHorn" to be. Ditto for the front fender, no "400", just "2500 V-EIGHT". Is this normal for GMC?

Only Chevrolet got the Longhorn emblem, GMC had the Custom Camper emblem on the doors on top of the door handle.

Longhorn BADGES!

Hello Guys!
My GMC Longhorn came with Sierra Grande Badges back where the Longhorn Badges Go on the Chevy's. Just my little addition to the Info being talked about. My Glove box sticker varifies everything as well. Good Post!!!

Yeah, the Sierra Grande was the CST/Cheyenne of the GMC trucks.

Thumbs up

Thanks, guys.
My Longhorn has the Custom Camper emblem.
The truck was a commercial fisherman's beach truck, and it looks like it didn't rack up too many miles. The original owner's manual is in the glove box, and the Swede religiously recorded all of the maintenance. The last maintenance was illegible, but the mileage at the time was within 800 miles of the current odometer reading of 29,447! Thats gotta be the true mileage, because the engine is all oily and obviously never out, but still has 45psi of hot oil pressure! It'll chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift! DANG I must be living right. And all for UNDER a thousand!

3/4 ton and i dont know how to tell them apart other than a 12 bolt has 12 and 10 bolt has 10 LOL and i can identify a 9 inch. we jacked it up and spun the wheel twice and the driveshaft went 3 and over a half but not sure how far cause it was kinda dark so either 3.56 3.73 something like that. as far as how much i wouldnt have any idea i will ask other people what's fair and go a little less than that or you can just offer.

if its a 3/4 ton and its original its either the dana 60 or the eaton H052. easy way to tell them apart...the eaton is round like a ford 9", the d60 is odd-shaped.

EDIT: I see the truck has a th400...I'm gonna take a stab that the axle is a dana 60 with 3.54 gears, and originally had a BB.

If you can confirm the 3-something gear, then I am interested. I don't know that I'd actually be able to do it...but I want to look at the posability. You coming to the Ohio meet by chance?
