Inner rocker panels? Explain please.

Hey all. I know my rocker panels are shot and I need to replace them....but what are inner rocker panels?? Can someone give me a good explanation or pics of inner and outer rocker panels?

I believe the rocker panel refers to the outer sheet metal only - the inner panel (aka backing plate) refers to the panel behind it; that is, the vertical plate you see when lying on your back under your truck.

The inner rocker panel is actually part of the cab floor. The big flat area that is behind where the rocker panel goes. When the rocker panel is on you dont see the inner rocker backing plate.

This is actually my Jimmy floor, this was previously a pickup cab that I hacked the top and back off thats why it looks a little funny, but this area of the cab is the same for a Blazer and a pickup. The red line I drew is the new metal I welded in. The profile drawing shows the shape of the inner rocker plate looking at it from the end. I included a before pic and some pics that I just found of the 'during'
