Im looking at buying a 97 silverado with a 4.3 V-6 in it,auto, and my question is: What kind of tranny does it have? I plan on dropping in a v-8 sometime down the road and want to make sure the tranny will handle the extra power.

It has a 4L60e, but it is a weaker verson than the v8 version.
If you really want a V8 truck, you would be better off to just buy one that already has it in it.
