I got alot of work done on my new house.....well, new to me. It was built in 1929 and it is overgrown as can be. I bought the house that needed the most work in the nicest neighborhood I could afford... Ah, resale value.

On the truck! Took out the bedliner to see a plywood bed that is going to be replaced with some good stock metal, probably need to fenders for the rear, too.

Took out the seat, carpet and random other things from the interior to survey the damage. That gas tank is going to go under the bed as soon as the bed comes off. got some floor rust but not too bad. My girlfriend has a digital camera that I need to start playing with. I'm just happy to get to start on it finally. I so have ADD, I have too many projects going on at once. Gotta start sheetrocking a ceiling, too.

went to a local car show at our firestation, it was there first one to put on so it was hard work. They only had one class for trucks so all of the classics and modern and "under construction" trucks (like mine) were in one class. I didn't win anything but the best of show went to a '71 with the stock I-6 and new paint. And dumb me forgot my camera so no pics :-(

Smile What I did this weekend

I started my weekend on friday by loading up 2 trailers full of supplies to take to victims of Hurricane Charley. My wife and 3 friends and I went down to Arcadia and spent the entire day going from home to home giving out diapers, wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, water, can food and much much more. We were met with people from all over the state who came to help out, new roofs were put on, trees cut down, pets found and so on. We had collected enough hamburgers, hotdogs and chicken to feed 1000 people. It started at 5:30am and will not be over for weeks to come. This is my 2nd weekend and I am going back next weekend but this time to Frostproof which is over in the general area of Orlando. There are alot of people over there that live in mobile homes that are no more. We will be taking chainsaws, generators, food, water and what ever else we can collect or gather with us. Now it was a long weekend but one that was well worth it, we had people coming up to us hugging us, taking our pictures and even crying because no one had been there yet.

Went to the board meet, ordered poly bushings for the new trailing arms, moved everything that's going to be powdercoated into boxes to take tomorrow.

with a little help from 71swb4X4 I changed my front suspension again. this time I did a dropped spring bucket in the lower arms so my camber curve is near neutral. also installed the headers I got from KurtL. this week I may get a chance to finish the rest of the exhaust. I also installed the original motor mount brackets I got from TooMuchStuff. too bad my engine is about 1" too far forward. (will have to drill new holes in Xmember this week also)
I can sure feel the pain from overdoing it.
hwy Shawn, how's the TPI coming?

Well, I missed the board meet .

I was on call this weekend & our building is undergoing a lot of changes internally/externally. They were doing some amonia piping which effected my area so I got several phone calls to put out small 'fires'.

Since I was @ work more than what I wanted, it cut into my garage moving time & my opportunity to go to the board meet & greet. I only got my RestoRod moved & all my various pieces of sheet-metal (1 door, 4 67 fenders, 2 67 bedsides, 1 tailgate, 2 67/8 hoods). The fun part????..... I moved it all by myself.

I spent this morning @ Sams buying shelving for the new(er) garage & this afternoon putting it all together so I can have some room to actually work on my stuff.

I just stopped in @ work (yet again) to check on the status of things & now I'm leaving to go home & get some well earned rest. I do hope to meet you N.Texas guys @ another get together. For anyone interested in the parts I was intending to bring, we could arrange a meeting & I'll bring the stuff for you to see.

I drove to Tucson Friday to see They Might Be Giants (awesome band) then back that night. 460 miles roundtrip. Great show, got home at 0330. Out West, we'll drive 100 miles for a decent sandwich. Irrigated the yard Saturday, then got up at 0430 this morning and drove to Flagstaff to get my brother, then 100 more miles to Payson to shoot an IPSC pistol match. Had a ball. Urged brother to get some images of his restored '72 3/4 ton 4X4 Cheyenne to put on here. He sank a bu**load of coin into it and it looks great. Bronze and white with all the wood trim....
This afternnon, sold my old 7" rally wheels trim rings and tires to a buddy with a '71 GMC 1500 shorty. We swapped 'em in about 30 minutes in the driveway. It had white spoke wagon wheels and as you can imagine it looks WAY better now. Gotta drive to Sky Harbor tomorrow morning to pick up the Mrs. 180 miles round trip. Man, lotsa windshield time. I'm sick of ALL of my tapes. Not going ANYWHERE this week.... H.

Well...I'm on mids so I didn't do a lot...but I did change the shocks on
my 69 C10 P/U. I wondered about the shocks after I installed my front roll bar
about 6 months ago...and I still go a good bit of body roll in the corners. The front
shocks were so bad that I could compress them between my hands.

went for a bike (bicycle) ride, randomly distributed rubber onto public streets while simultainiously wearing out my tires , cleaned out cab and bed, organized toolbox, rebuilt bicycle hubs(new grease ect), went down and watched my friend fire up his freebie 88 yota pickup after $1000+ in block honing/new cylender head/valves, pistons, ect ect ect, fresh gas and it fired up with less than a full rotation of the crank, it was crazy, its started right up and runs perfect now he just needs his license.....
