Wanted- pics of louvered hoods

Next project on my truck is to have the hood louvered.

I'm looking for pics of trucks with louvered hoods to see what patterns look best.

Thanks!

I posted one back a while ago in the parts for sale. Still have it and is in excellant shape, keep your original as a spare. but here is a pick of the hood. Asking $350 plus whatever to ship it. also have a fiberglass hood replaces stock.

Wow! I had one I inherited in a parts lot I bought several years ago. Because I can't bear to throw anything away, I kept it. I then gave it to a guy who was going to use it on his pulling rig to ventilate his engine compartment. He asked me "How much?" and I told him to take it as nobody in their right mind would want that ridiculous thing for any other purpose.

Remember this is New England where louvers aren't condusive to snow and ice removal.

Guess it proves the old adage "One mans trash is another man's treasure"... or ... "There's no accounting for taste." (including mine) Oh well

Was that a factory option?
Doesn't rain get down on the engine with one of those?

It was a factory option only in Louisiana. It lets the steam out when they boil the crawfish. LOL

Yup, it lets water onto the engine, and makes it look like crap under there. (sorry jewels...not dis'in your rig) Look at her engine, hers had been painted and all dolled up at one point not too long ago, and this is what happened.
that's why I was saying they are a PITA on a driver onless you seal them up. I can't remember who gave her the idea, but at the Ohio meet last year, some one told her to seal each hole with sillicon RTV from under the hood. Looks great, no one can tell black RTV from shadows.

I know the downside of louvers and rain. I am building a pan for underneath the hood to channel the water off of the Tx Firefighter spiffy detailed 454 (TM).

It will channel the water to the sides of the engine compartment.
