Camper Special options?

Hey guys! What kind of options would a 72 3/4 ton camper special have? I have the chance to trade the guy a 3.73 12 bolt axle housing / gears for it, or he wants 500 obo for it. He says it starts and drives real well, just really rusty, which is very common up here. I'm thinking about buying it to run it as a farm truck until I can afford to build a nice street rod out of it. The guy says it has a standard tranny, but didn't say much else. I haven't seen it either, but he says its rough.

It might could have twin saddle tanks that would have the control switch on the drivers side floor for the three tanks. It also might have the driver side battery box and related wiring.

Mine is pretty much like chickenwing. The camper special package really didn't include that much. I have aux. battery, camper wiring, and 1 saddle tank. It also has camper mirrors, and a storage box on the bedside, however I don't think that is part of the custom camper equipment. Oh and you get the neat "custom camper" emblem on both doors

All it includes is special tires (I hope they are gone) HD shocks, HD springs, and an anti sway bar in front.

Here's the link... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=50059

That would blow crawling over a bench seat to get to the camper...I thought they were all bucket seat trucks.

Is there a pass through between the cab and the motorhome part? Did they cut into the actual back of the cab or what??

Camper special should have aux. springs and could have a strong step bumper thas has a brace welded to the middle of the underside of the bed. This was a towing bumper and some of them wrapped around a little of the sides of the fenders. The aux. springs were rated for 500 pounds each.

Not all camper specials had helper springs...either HD springs, or helpers. (straight from the restoration catalog)

Man! I got to lookin around for my camper special badges and could'nt find em. Got me wondering. So I broke out the before pictures of my truck and saw no Camper Special emblem. I guess all my stuff was added on? Options plate shows sliding glass, a/c, front stabilizer, rear leaf, 350, aux tank, aux battery, camper wiring, cheyene super equip, dark blue/med blue, tinted glass, door edge gaurds, camper mirror- stainless, heavy rear springs, power lock rear axle, turbo hydramatic, power steering, heavy duty battery, am-p/button radio, blue custom cloth trim. Vin is CCE242Z133052.
Do I have a camper special? What was the paint scheme? The way it came to me it was light blue with a white stripe, solid cab. Was the custom cloth the houndstooth? The power lock axle is long gone...was that posi or what?

Sorry Russ, hope this isn't straying too far from your topic.
