The best one on the market is the Mobile 1 filter...but the best for the money is NAPA.

I try to only use WIX. If my Oreilly doesn't have the WIX part # I need I will occassionally cross the street to AutoZone and get Bosch.

Only wix or a branded wix filter like napa gold. the difference in the gold and silver is the gold has the anti-drain back valve, the cheaper Silver does not.
Fram fillters have very little filter media in them, and are junk in my opinion. Cut open a wix and a fram and see the difference for yourselves.

I like my SuperTech. Yep. Wal-mart $1.96 special. It does a good job & is very cost effective (I do a lot of driving).

It is regular Purolator or AC Delco for me. Whichever is on sale at the time of the oil change.

Based on test Ive seen I use anythign but Fram. Purolator or AC Delco is usually easiest for me to get ahold of. Do like Napa Gold as well though.

I use a motorcraft in my stang, and my truck is gonna be getting a napa gold after the cam is replaced and broken in... I also have to add, a friend of mine has used Fram forever....and every single one of his vehicles has had a noisy valvetrain at startup. I never once thought about it (thought it was a mopar thing as that's all he owns), until I saw the oil filter study site. I guess frams are good for noisy valvetrains....

I use K&N same as mobil 1 except for the nut on the bottom both made by Champion.
Another real good filter if you can find them is the Donaldson. If you feel really rich you can be a showoff and get one of these:

Anyone remember the old toilet paper oil filters? I hear those were the absolute best filters ever...any one confirm/deny that?

^ They worked great, took out moisture way better than regular filters (means less acid builup). But you still needed to run a regular filter as they were a bypass filter. I used to run them on all my cars (for Andy this is dad speaking).
