Fiber optic Question
Was the Fiber optic light for the shift indicator installed on all 67 - 72 years or was it an option?

I believe it was standard on any auto 67-72, but I could be mistaken. TTT for you.

In non-tilt automatic columns, the fiber optic cable was standard issue.
As stated, tilts got light bulbs. |

Where does the fiber optic cable connect for a light source? Mine appears to be broken off. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

I know the fiber optic attaches to the socket closest to the speedo just like the little 194 bulbs. I don't know if it uses a 194 bulb or different type. Does anybody know the bulb number?

It goes to the rear of the cluster. Near the upper center I believe. it is just a little pin that slides into a tab.

I was hoping the fiber optic bulb was different because I tried a 194 in it and it didn't work. Andy, the funny thing is I bought a replacemnet fiber optic assembly with bulb from you 2 years ago and I can't find the damn thing!

If your original fiber shift indicator seems a little dim you can brighten it up just a little by trimming a few thousandths off the cable ends (fiber optic) with a new razor blade, be sure to make a straight clean cut.

Fred, I'm putting my dad's truck back together after a recent paint job. It's been off the road for over a year. I have been buying tons of parts for the last 5 years and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just wish it was FIBER OPTIC,LOL!
