Battery Voltage
I know we have gone over this before, but what should the voltage at the battery be while it is running or not running?? I read 12.5 volts running or not. The alternator was reading 12.5 also at the battery terminal. Shouldn't it read 14.5 volts?? Is it different with an external regulator?? It is a 350 with an externally regulated alternator??
Thanks... Chris |

It should read 14+ volts when running. If not something is wrong with your charging system.

I did the conversion. I am getting 13+ volts at the battery after I run the engine above idle for a second or two. They checked it at Checkers after the conversion and said it was fine. Does this sound ok?? I haven't had any problems. I connected the blue & brown wires together at the regulator plug and then terminated the other end at the #1 terminal...#2 at the battery terminal on the alternator & reconnected the wire to the battery terminal...
