Lifted long bed or short bed?

say you were going to do a 3" lift with 35" tires, what truck would look better, a long bed or a short bed?

long.....shorts just look too...................short. just my .02 cents i just dont think i could drive a short bed.......see my pic

if you were going any higher than 9" i would say long, anything less a shorty looks better.

You know..........I don't think I could drive a long bed. I've had shortbeds for so long it would be totally weird having that long thing behind me..... Long beds and short beds both look good....

I'd say a short bed looks better. It also has a far better turning radius for wheeling. But long beds hold way more stuff in the back. And looks damn nice too. I personally have a long bed but I'm building a Blazer next!

If you like to stay out on the trails like I do then SHORT is the way to go. But its a chevy so its going to look good either way.

How about a converted longhorn? I'd have to say long bed. But a 1 ton converted to 4wd w/ a 9' stepside would look good.

here is a pic of a longbed witrh a 2 1/2 lift and 33" tires. I think it looks better then my budys shortbed 4' lift with 35"

Shortbeds look tougher with lifts on them, but a longbed is better for functionality... it just an extra 1.5 feet of A$$ to take into account when climbing anything. I have a 1979 longbed k10 and it has 33's on it now, I will have to lift it though, because the tires are rubbing the inner fenders. Trans and Transfer shift firmly though, That is all I care about. BTW, can I swap the entire body off of my 1976 Longbed 2wd onto the 1979 longbed 4wd frame? All of the mounts look the same, It seems that the only major difference would be setting up the cab for the transfer case shifter.

I did it with a 70 2wd cab to a 71 4wd frame, had to cut the floor of the 2wd to bolt in the hump from the old 4wd cab.

All I own are Shortbeds, but the way I look at it, Shortbeds are for play and long beds are for work. I used to have a 92 gmc longbed on 35's now an 85 shorty on 38's the long bed had the bed used much more often. Just remember, you go big enough and the bed is no good anyway, can't reach it. Just remember, its an optical illusion, the taller the truck the shorter it looks the lower the longer it looks. A crewcab longbed looks a mile long until its on 44", then it finally looks normal.

I am 6'7", so I can pretty much reach the bed on anything short of a monster truck. Anyway, I am swapping the body tomorrow, I have to cut the center hump for the transfer case shifter, as it is bossed, but not a bolt in plate, I also have to repair some extensive rust out that is going on on the passenger side, would not worry about it, but hey, I have a little brother who has to put his feet there.
