My truck started knocking today on the way to work.
Should i rebuild the original 350 & keep the #'s matching or just get a different motor all together? Have access to a rebuilt 327,& a low mileage 350. ------------------ 69 CST/10 350/400TH lwb fleet all original,1 owner 79 K/20 4x4 built & lifted Sheridan,IN

For these trucks it doesn't make a diference weather it is #'s matching or not! How much are these motors that you speak of? If they a fairly cheap then I would buy one because to have a good rebuild done on your 350 I think it would cost you between 800-1000 someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

If you go for the other motor, keep the one you got around in your grandmother's barn or something. Seem like nothing is as good as original.

North American Auto Parts sells master kits for 350s for $159, if you do all the work yourself, and don't need much machine work, you could get by pretty cheap.
