Headers for A.I.R. w/ Y-Pipe ?

I have a set of Edelbrock TES headers that may or may not work on my truck because I have a manual transmission. Swervin Ervin is going to help me determine if the drivers side header will interfere with the clutch linkage.
If it does interfere with the clutch linkage then I will need to sell these headers (to someone with an auto trans) and buy some new ones.
Who makes a header and y-pipe kit for these trucks with welded in a.i.r. tubes for the smog system?
I really want a set that comes with the y-pipe like the edelbrocks do, because I will be running a single 3" exhuast and do not want to make the y-pipe.

Mike, I will send you a PM soon with some measurements so hopefully you can measure yours and see if my clutch linkage will interfere.

Ohh yeah I have to go to emission testing before the end of the month so I need to get on ordering new headers if I need them. I should have already done this so I could work on installing this stuff this 3-day weekend.

ahhh so nice living in a state with no emission restrictions...
but i am sure that for vehicles of that age that didn't come with the restrictions at that time, there shouldnt be any major laws broken if it doesnt pass current standards. Like a friend of mine who has a 75 Dodge and lived in CA a few years back, they tried to get him to place all these restrictors and **** on his truck and he told them to shove it, it wasn't standard on the vehicle new so by law its not required now. He got away because of that.
As long as the original equipment is functioning on your truck thats all they can require pass or not. I would do some research as to the AZ laws reguarding this and keep them handy as tools in case they expect you to go ape**** with restrictors and cats and such.

you don't have a clue what you are talking about. I can tell you first hand that it don't matter if it has all the stuff it came with and it functions. If it fails the sniffer test, you fail, PERIOD. If it does fail, you will be charged for the inspection, minus the sticker fee. Then, you have some time, which I think is like 2 weeks (not sure on the amount of time) to take it back for inspection again. Finally, if your vehicle doesn't pass inspection and you can't get it to pass, you will be fined by the state and you will not be able to register it, which means no tag. NC is county by county. Don't think you can go over to a non emissions county and get it inspected either. I tried that once. It didn't fly.

Until you actually live where they require emissions inspections, please don't make stupid assumptions about it.

Eddie,

I have an Edel TES Sys.on my truck and im reasonably shure the header will fit without interfearance i think it's the crossover or Y pipe that's gonna be the issue with the clutch Z-bar and other linkage when you go to bolt it to the collector of the header.

But what ever it is theres allways a modification that can be made to make it work and i'de recommend you go that route cuz this system is an awesome one at least IMO.

I agree with Bruce. Keep the system and make mods to the y-pipe if you will need it. The Edelbrock TES system is hard to beat when it comes to emissions headers, although I only have the headers themselves left of mine now. Thank goodness I finally was able to get rid of that damned y-pipe. I can finally get my transmission pan off without having to drop the y-pipe.

Have I mentioned before I hate y-pipes?
