Drive shaft problems

I have a TH400 trans and am putting a one piece Drive shaft in it the shaft was sliding of the trans fine now all of the sudden I can not get it to slid on any Ideals what it might be. I can see where the yoke ( I think that is what its called) has a notch in it but I can see where it lines up with the shaft coming out the trans.

sometimes they are a pita Make sure its clean inside the yoke could have some rust or trash unless it was the same yoke.

I was under the impression that to run a one piece on a longbed you had to submodify the cross member for additional clearence.

its the same one that was on it. It slide on and off just fine then I could not slide it on any more.

I thought I would have to cut the cross member too but it looks like I all I have to is remove the bearing mount, which has already been modified so I just have to unbolt it.

Have you tried lubing the splines w/trans fluid? Sounds like you've got a burr somewhere.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Try getting someone under the truck to help you. The helper can hold the rear of the driveline and try to keep it level with the output shaft on the tranny while you slide the yoke into the tranny.
