Stepside Bed rail Question

I'm replacing the stepside Bed rail on both sides of the bed, i cut them out before i blasted the sides and i have no clue . i bought the rails at a show some time back my question....is there a left and right side rail because the rails i have the holes are punched out the same and if i put them left and right sides the hole do not line up. or am i doing something wrong? HELP
does any one have pics of the correct way and placement of the rails? i knew i should have made a note of this before i took it apart.
