truck dies with low fuel.

my buddy has a 91 chevy reg cab sb with a v6. when the gas is around a 1/4 full, it dies out around corners, going up hill, etc. is this a common problem or what? a 1/4 tank is still a lot of gas and no other vehicle i know of does that.

don't count on the gauge to be accurate. my old 88 if you took it down to 1/4 on the gauge i had to find a station to fill at cause it coulda run out at any point.
