I need an inner metal housing for tach cluster

As you can see, the p.o. cut out the bottom circles for aftermarket gauges.

I want to run original gauges for my CST. Does anyone have one that is not trimmed out? I only need the front half. If you are going with Autometer gauges or similar, maybe we could work out some sort of trade??

Thanks,
Davy

Have you considered taking the lower section from another dash and glueing/Jbwelding the two together? It would be rigging I know, but that is a hard to find piece. I've done one similar with good results.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I think you can buy these repro now. I think GMC Paul sells them.

That is an idea...and I have another "donor" that I could cut. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for the idea.

I would still like to get a solid one first if possible.

Thanks Brian, I think I will try and see if anyone has just the front half for me. I would hate to separate that good set.

HuggerCST, I will sell this one once I find an un-cut one. I'll keep you posted.

Anyone else have an uncut front half??

Just take a non-tach one, then using your cut-up tach one as a template, use a hole saw to cut the tach hole in the non-tach one.

I just did this. After re-painting the black part black, you can't tell other than there isn't that 3/8" or so lip pointing down towards the tach.

I think the lip is important to the lighting. Also, there are "slits" all the way around the original tach hole for lighting that may be lost in fabbing one out of a non-tach unit.

Call me a "stickler", but I want an original for this particular restoration. I appreciate all your ideas and help.

Cheyenne Super-Man has anything you could possibly want/need as far as dash/gauge parts go. He used to have a downloadable catalog but apparently doesn't anymore. He has factory tachs, vaccuum gauges, plates like your looking for etc...
