Summitt Brand

I was considering purchasing a Summitt Cam Kit for my truck, they are like $79.99 with lifters and lube. Has anyone here had any experience with the quality of these? I've been pleased with all Summitt brand parts I have purchased so far but I've never tried the internal engine parts. Any info appreciated.

I'v had one in my 350 for 5-6 years with no problems. I forget the part number I used but it had the same specs and the Edelbrock performer cam.

beaterC10, I beleive thats the same cam I am looking at, part# K1104, I will have to check the specs compared to the edelbrock. How does it perform? I knows there may be better grinds out now but I can't get over 80 bucks with lifters and I don't really want to get too radical.

mine is a 1105. lopes pretty nice. sounds good seems to have real nice throttle response. i havent got the truck on the road yet so dont know other than that but if you dont have the dough to drop on it buy one. as far as quality it dont matter what brand you use.....summit crane lunati comp whatever can all go flat if not properly lubed and broken in. you take care of it and it will be nice for you.there are some more technologically advanced cam grinds out there but they get the job done for a lot less dough.

I have ran the Summit cam for since my engine was new, That's been ten years and 25000 miles. ( No I don't drive it much ) I don't remember the number, But It is a 272-282/ 444-465 Very strong low and mid range, Turns off right about 5500 RPM Very strong pull though. Because of the strong Pull, ( Torque) it propels our heavy truck fairly well, if you're not looking for high RPM You'd like it

I believe Summit cams to be ground by Wolverine, a very old, established cam company.

Like is said above, one Summit grind is an exact copy of the Edelbrock Performer cam, which I've also been told are ground by Wolverine, except for about 30 percent less money.

I got the summit cam kit, don't remember the part number though, for the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold. Exact same specs at only a fraction of the price. Thats the second cam kit I've bought from them and I can't complain one bit. Both worked like a champ

I looked at the specs on the K1104 and it's 224 @ .050 duration intake and exhaust and .465" lift. Do you guys think I can keep the stock valve springs? It is a goodwrench 350 btw.

I installed the Summit 1105 in my 72 350, used the stock old valvesprings but did install a Moroso stud girdle just to make sure the studs didnt pull out, ok, maybe just becuse it looks cool with the aluminum roller rockers I got cheap off e bay. I dont rev the engine much past 4,000 since the oil pressure usually stays below 40 pounds, I will be replacing bearings and a high volume pump in the near future to fix that. It moves the truck very well, even at low rpm in 3rd gear. I'd at least go with the 1105.

Would someone recommend a summit cam for my truck? 71 350/350 with 4:11 gears. As far as I know its a stock rebuilt 350 with 76cc heads, headers, performer RPM intake and 600cfm edelbrock carb. Stock converter. Thanks. I dont ever go over 4500 and am looking for something with some more power and a lumpy idle.

You cant go too wild with the cam with 8:1 compression or with stock iron heads, unless they are the old 2.02 double humps. Probably the 1105 would be the best or close to it.

I have never had any problem's with summit part's I took the big gamble and started with the oil pump's from summit and figured if the oil pump could keeep the motor together then the hard part's should also be pretty good and they alway's have a good price on there part's..
