Auto OD column mod
Does anyone sells or has anyone have a how to guide to modify a stock three speed auto column to accept the four speed overdrive shift indicator and detent.I know that there are kits out there for the floor mounted shifters on cars but I have not seen one for the column shifted transmissions,is there such a kit out there?

If you mess with it for a while, you can fit it to where you can get all gears...park through first...all working with no mods. (from what I hear anyways) Then all you need to do is wax/polish the Park RND21 off the lens, and get your own stickers...or paint it on if you are more tallented...or don't care how bad it looks.
Seems many ppl just hook it up to where Drive is Overdrive, 2 is drive, 1 is second...and just live without putting it in first gear manually....really, when was the last time you NEEDED to put it in first and hold it? |

What Longhorn said.
Mess with the linkage for a while and you'll get working. I even was able to adjust it so it still only starts in Park and Nuetral. I put my 700R4 in about 5 years ago now.

Ididit Co. sells an O.D. indicator that will fit the stock column with a little sanding. You can take the Xmsn . pan off and watch the shifter as it hits all gears and adjust the shifter rod accordingly should be able to get all gears and indicate properly on the indicator with minor tweaking. www.ididit.com
