Progress is slow on the 4X4 Garden Truck - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Progress on the garden truck has slowed a little, although the cab is nearing completion. We now have installed a full tinted windsheild with extra tint across the top. Other stuff that has been done is, the new gas tank is installed, new heater controls, glove box liner, sound deadning, and carpet. We have the base and brackets for our 67-68 bucket seats at the powder coaters, and the seats and center section at the upholsterers. Once we get the base back, I can make a couple of speaker boxes to fit under the seat. The engine is just about all done being plummed and wired, the transmission linkage and tilt column has been installed and adjusted. Just waiting on our painter to paint the doors, glove box lid, and ashtray face, so I can complete the cab. Then it will be time to move on to the front clip

!! I can't wait to see it with a cowl hood sitting on it!!

Thanks guys, I appriciate it. I decided to mount the 2004 Silverado wheels. I had to roll it outside because I am getting ready to install some cabnets in the shop, so I took a couple of pictures of it in the sun.... What do you think? I am going to machine out the center caps to see how they will look on it. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

what kind of carpet is that you got in there? Is that something you carry and what kind of sound deadening did you use? Brown bread, dynamat??????

The carpet is manufactured by ACC. It is a closed loop carpet and we do carry them. ($119.95) the sound deadner is just the factory style that we carry also. ($39.95) I thought about dynomat, or brown bread, but opted against it because I am not trying to install a big sterio. I will probably use that stuff on my panel when I get that far, because it is a big echo chamber. lol I did manage to do the test fit on our new cup holders though. I think that it looks great and installs with just a little tweaking... I think that mine required more tweaking that normal, because I did some welding on mine... (Not supposed to do that!!
