Question Exhaust kits...

Do any of the vendors here sell a full exhaust kit for these trucks? Looking at a 68 SWB to be exact. I am looking for a complete system from the header on back...including mufflers, hangers, and whatever else is included in there. If no vendors here sell them, does anyone know of where to get a kit?? Any info appreciated.

I bought mine from JC Whitney they have manifold and header kits, included 4 hangers/clamps. Exited behind rear wheels or straight out the back. LMC also has kits.

Have you considered getting a custom sys. bent & installed at any close muffler shops? Thats what I did, and I'm very happy with the results. It was a somewhat spendy but that was the only "con" against all the "pros". Doug

I have yet to hear anything bad about the LMC exhaust...and I HATE giving LMC a good word since they screw everything else up.

i found the lmc kit to be very complete and pretty simple to install almost 4years old and no problems, the only problem is that the pieces weren't marked so it was a bit of a jigsaw puzzle.
the main thing to remember when installing it is to have the truck up high with the wheels hanging down(jackstands on the frame not the axel)

I bought my HOOKERS and FLOWMASTERS from SUMMIT and then had a good muffler shop do the custom 3" pipe work......sounds great and didn't cost all that much.

I am needing mandrel bent pipes due to the engine pushing so much exhaust...I doubt that LMC or JC Whitney systems are mandrel bent. I am also not too sure if the local Muffler shops do that either...I think they do it the fastest, easiest way. I may have to call flowmaster and see if they have a system for these trucks...I have heard that they do. If all else fails, I guess I will have to go with a regular system, and just lose a couple horsepower!!

67chev, yes that can sometimes be a problem finding a good shop .... the local shop that did mine has a good reputation (mandrel bends, nice welds) theres some pretty good exhaust info on his website http://www.precisionkelowna.com/
