Can't you use a transmission cooler in place of a oil cooler. If so you can buy one of those HD B&M tranny coolers for under $75.

use mobil 1 oil, in the 94 corvettes with regular oil the oil temp was getting so high that there was going to have to be an external oil cooler, but there was no room for it, so the Mobil guys told them to put in Mobil 1 and it dropped the oil temp 20 degrees, also all of the major high performance cars all use mobil 1, just a thought.

Im defiantely interested in a replacement cooler. Did the one you have come off of a running motor? Since my motor spun a bearing Im not sure if there would be a ton of metal and crap in mine. I tried cleaning it out with solvent and pressure would this work? I just dont want it to destroy the new motor YA KNOW?? Also I heard that Mobil 1 is not recomended for big block applications anyone know anything about that???

mobil 1 is for everything! we had a big block that had sat around at idle for very very long periods of time, we reringed it just so that it would run, sorta so we wouldn't have to trailer it from arkansas to texas, well 60K miles later and mobil 1 it finally spun a rod bearing, that engine had so much piston slap you could hear it standing in front of the car, ran like a champ though.
