Pictures Please
I will be taking the cab off in the spring. I KNOW the floor is shot, rockes, corners all that stuff will be changed. Only one problem. I have know idea what the bottom of a good cab looks like. I have never seen one in good shape. Can anyone post a picture of one without holes in it so I can see what I need. Not real good with the bboks, I need idiot proof visuals.

Here is a pic of the underside of the cab. We were in the process of prepping for paint. The only holes that needed repair were extra screw holes that were welded up.

Did you have to cut the hump hole out on this cab and drill and spot the weld nuts? Curious as to the weld nuts in the floor. I was under my parts cab today and it had weld nuts mounted to a metal strip with about three or four spot welds holding it to a side. I have to cut out the hole in my new cab and was thinking about trying to drill out these spot welds and removing those strips but maybe I should just install weld nuts like yours? Mark

Mark,
It is hard to see in the pic but the strips that you are referring to are there. I cut the floor on another cab for the high hump and just welded the square nuts to the floor without the strips. Floor metal is pretty thick and it seems to hold up ok. My thought was that the strips are to make the procedure go faster when the humps are installed at the factory as they would be a quick install. I located the nuts using the hump as a guide for drilling the holes. Jim |

That is the best cab that we have ever had and obviously it did not come from Michigan! I like to work on cabs when they are resting on their back. It makes everything pretty easy to get at. Jim |
