The buy is still on, but delayed a little because Chris is dealing with hurricane Ivan at the moment...which is why he hasn't repled yet. He should be back on line in a few days or so.

Guys i frequent 67-72 boards (Actually i'm here way too much) and i would really appreciate if there was a sticky on the rod doors group buy. I'd finally like to get some good looking door panels instead of having to modify the stock ones to the point there's nothing letf of them. I just hope this will not be another gauge pod affair where nothing gets done.

Rock, trust me, this is no gauge pod fiasco. There are only two people fully commited on this buy...and I am one of them. Chris will actually be a dealer for roddoors, so that is on our side too. Maybe you could PM Liz (MHC) and have her make it a sticky on the parts board or something.

Will PM MHC to suggest what you said, and i am anxiously waiting for those door panels. If Chris sells them i will buy from him to support him & and the 67-72chevytrucks board. Assuming Chris will handle international orders. Hopefully Jeanne will not be as big a problem as Ivan has been.

Now that i think about it there are a lot of people here in Finland asking for custom parts for their 67-91 trucks, and i may be able to arrange some sales for Chris or whoever decides to retail them on the board. If there's enough interest and we can arrange a fair shipping cost i may buy several sets and resell to local enthusiasts at no additional fee.

roddoors has been violating board policy and spammign the other boards with ads. They were asked to become paid advertisers and have not paid , yet continue to post ads ... no stickies shall be made unless roddoors writes a formal apology, and quits spamming.

Liz, I was wondering if you guys noticed what was going on.

Andrew, go back a couple pages and look for a "Roddoors group buy" thread (or something like that)...or you can go to www.removed to see the door panels.

yes it was noticed, and they were contacted explaining the policy. They chose to continue in the way they were. There are alot of things that go on, that aren't made public. IMO there is no reason for everyone to be involved in silly junk. This has been brought up and made public, so it was said. They chose to break the rules, and even after asking for ad rates etc. did not help to support yet still posted pimpin their stuff. I'm sure they are a great company, and have great stuff.. but they are in no way supporting the forums.

I'd like to know how the armrest attaches to the door panel and how the door panel attaches to the door shell. What i mean is that after hundreds and hundres of times closing the door by pulling from the _______ (arm rest? lock handle? fill in empty space) will the door panel still feel solid, not squeak, not have any cracks and so on. Are those door panels built so well they will not feel like cheap taiwan repops after 5, 10 or 15 years? Not to mention fresh out of the box?

RockHQ,
The panel attaches to the door shell with DUALLOC Tabs (velcro). The armrest from what I remember connects with the existing mount. I will check and let you know for sure.

Wow, only 2 people are in. Did Roddoors leave that bad of a taste with everyone? I am wondering now if it was worth the buy-in price...

I don't like the fact that they are just "skins." I had orginally thought that they were the entire door panel assembly. I am with RockHQ, I am afraid of them coming off after a couple of years from daily use.

That is too bad Chris. You would think with all the people who said they were interested (15 people said they were on my original thread!), more of them would have been serious. I see this happen all the time...people talk big and say they are "in"...but when it comes time to actually pay, you never hear from them.

I am still in for my two items, wheter I buy them from you or from Roddoors.

What do u all mean by just skins. Is this the whole panel or does it just fit over your existing panel.

I think the term skin means the shell of the door panel without the covering like leather, cloth, or vinyl. Right?

It is a complete panel and it attaches to your existing door replacing the factory door panel. The prices I have on my forum are without upholstery, but it is availible from them for more. I can get them either way.

This is a pic of the door panels assembled.

All of the pics of just the panels are at this thread:

I would like it better with a positive mount. And would think they could offer them with a full cloth like cover.

The small cloth insert at the bottom doen's do much for me.

As I said, it does have a positive mount. There is an L bracket that mounts to the door shell and mounts to the armrest. They offer the material to cover them, but they also have over 600 colors and material, so offering a generic one that you can cover is the best option.

There is not cloth insert on the bottom, you can cover it with anything you want. The stuff I am selling is the panels that you can cover with any material that you plan to match to your current interior.

I was under the impression that these fit over your existing door panels. These replace your entire door panel, correct?
