Wheel bearing

I think I have a rear wheel bearing going out on my 96 Suburban. Has anyone ever changed one? Do you have any advice? What does the bearing go for $ ? Also if you have had it done at a shop what did you pay? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Not really that big of a deal since the complete assembly bolts in. Not sure what a new one costs.

I'm curious about this as well...am I to understand the outer wheel bearing on a 5-lug 8.5" rear bolts on? I thought they were a press-in bearing. I have a mild roaring/rumbling developing, so i will need to replace the bearing or have it replaced.

I just did mine on a 9.5" rear and it was about $100 for both bearings and seals. Use a slide hammer to pull the old ones out and a big socket or something similar to drive the new ones in. took me about 2 hrs. I am pretty the 8.5 is the same procedure.
