Front suspension change out - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I want to change my front suspension.
I have been told that a newer front end from a suburban will bolt directly to a 67 pickup.
What I don't know is what year suburban will work.
I want disk brakes, power steering.
Please let me know if you know.

welcome to the board from oregon, you will like it here. 71-79 is what people say, once you get into the 80's there are some differences in spindle sizes but if you use that year spindle it will work. i am currently doing the same with 81 parts. just make sure that you use all the parts from the year of the doner truck (ex if you are using a 75 use 75 ball joints, tierod ends...ect cause there are differences in these parts) and its not just subs its all 1/2 2wd trucks and blazers
there is 2 ways you can do it also. change the whole crossmember out or just spindles out. depending if you have a motor in or not.

i have a complete front crossmember with dropped spindles and sway bar ps box for sale over on the parts board if you close to daytona

If it's 4wd than yes bolting any GM front axle will work. You will have to pay attention to brake lines as the calipers changed to metric banjo fittings. As for the power steering you'll need the newer(71 and up) gear box and have to either dimple the frame or use spacers. Board member PONT has done this.

up through 87 trucks and through 91 Suburbans will work.

You'll need to dimple the frame as mentioned, spacers are a real bad idea.

Board member PONT has done this. __________________ 1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
