Changing steering column parts
I'm running with a mid seventies van tilt( shifter on the cloumn) and I want to put in a floor shifter, and replace the cup with a smooth one, or should I say one that only has the tilt lever and turn signal. Does anyone know what type of column I rob the part from?
Thanks alot.

You are pretty much going to have to get it from an original truck tilt that was for a 4-speed, and if that is the case it will cost some coin.
It would be far cheaper to cut the shifter mount off of your existing cup and fill it. One person ont he board did it (don't remember who) and it turned out very nice.

I did it to mine and although the body guy hasn't got around to painting the column yet, should be an invisible alteration. http://yukon.b0xen.us/albums/vantilt/

That should look good. I have a original tilt with a worn pivot pin that I'm going to have to try this to.
Thanks

John, maybe try again, when I hit the link the album comes up. If you can't get them to come up, pm me your e-mail address and I will send you the pics.
