Smile New Truck

Last weekend while driving down the highway I noticed a 1970 longbed I've been eyeing for quite some time had a For Sale sign in the window, I stopped to ask how much and was told $500, I went back and bought it that afternoon, and will be picking it up in the morning.

The following link will go to some photos of it:

The Bad

The Rocker is gone on the Passanger side, and the grill shell will need to be replaced, but on a positive note both cab corners, the bed floor, firewall, and drivers side rocker are all solid. This is going to be a fun truck to work on

engine and trans

I'm not sure what engine it is yet, I'll check the number's tommorow, unfortunatly i'm thinking it's a 307, and hoping for a 350, the trans is a Turbo 350.

307

The engine is definetly a 307, I got it to start last weekend, however It smoke like a train, looks like I'll be looking for a rebuildable 350 block. The good news is I was able to drive it, and the Transmission is great.

I'm also looking for a donor cab, The roof is in bad shape, and there some really strange body work below the back glass.
