Where to get a 87 R-10 Y-Pipe?
I have true duels w/o cats on an 87 R10
and I'm looking to replace it with a stock exhaust. (I bought the truck from a non-emissions county) But I'm am having trouble finding a replacement y-pipe. Junk yards are unable to find one either. Also talked with the local GM truck folks the pipe has been discontinued. I have been to the local muffler shop and they want $325 to build a y-pipe and install a cheap cat & muffler. Any ideas who would carry one. Maybe you just installed duels and you have one laying around? Thanks Eddie - Dallas, Tx |

so you HAVE to do emissions stuff? There isn't some place that is lax on inspections? There are plenty of places round here where they give the things out. Or if you just want stock exhaust, that hype too.
Good luck!!

Everything under the hood is stock. Shouldn't be any
trouble with the visual inspection but when they put it on the smog test - I think that's where it will fail - being there are no cats and all. Also the current exhaust really sounds too ratty for me. I'm hoping to install a single pipe, cat, and 50/70 series flowmaster. Thanks Eddie |

What condition is your exhaust in? Maybe we could trade? My exhaust is 100% stock factory original.

I've got a stock 78 Front Y-pipe (From Stock Manifolds to Single Cat) If you want it, just pay shipping and it's yours.

GMCLS1:
I don't think you would want this rusty exhaust. It seems to have some weld issues. It appears to be leaking where they cut off the old y-pipe and welded on the duels. I'm sure this would break during removal. Also shipping the duels would be a nightmare unless I cut the 14'(rear bumper exit) of exhaust into manage pieces for the UPS folks. If I didn't cut them up - then I would be faced with "oversized" shipping prices. I do appreciate the effort. TIMSPEED: You've got a PM. Thanks Eddie |
