What did you get done?
I went with my buddy Jeff (98L150) to the Texas Ski Ranch fall festival pics are located here-TSR Fall Truck Festival
I rode with him in his freshly lowered Colorado p/u. It's static dropped so we scraped a bit, but it still rides good. There were quit a few nice trucks there so it wasn't a wasted trip, but the dirt parking lot we were in sucked..... What did you get done?

I picked up my Big Block Suburban
The family and I drove down to Bryan Texas and picked up my Big Block 79' Suburban. Took alot longer than I thought it would for some reason but it was a good time.
Now I have my complete front end, rear end, 454/TH400 combo to convert my 4X4 Blazer into a Big Block 2WD. Mowed my weed patch in the front yard and moved some things around in the Garage so I can fit the Blazer in there for the winter. Thanks for the pic N2, Regards, Stacey |

friday-had a football game to go to but sence it was raining so bad the band got told to go home, but before we did we were stuck up there for about, 2 hours so the tuba section, (me, travis, and byron) stood up on chairs infront of the band and shouted some good ol' country drinkin' songs, such as 2 pina colatas(sp?), friends in low places, Lord loves a drinkin' man, and yellow submarine for the fun of it.
saterday-did nothing xpt sleep, tried to go somewere with my gf, but her mom wouldn't let her. sunday-had the devotional sunday night, fixed an oil leak on the truck

this was the second holiest weekend for auto and truck enthusiasts here in new jersey ( no not Yom Kippur the fall swap meet at raceway park) so friday i took the kid out of school early and we went shopping. I scored a bunch of nice stuff and so did he. He was very happy scoring Monte Carlo aluminum rims for his car for $60 including three center caps. He got some chrome accessories for his truck and i got some other nick nacks for the 86 truck including new aftermarket inner fenders for$65. Thursday after school we went junkyarding and we scored a half decent bed for the project truck for $150, a step bumper for $35 and some other assorted junk.
This weekend we went to a BBQ at a friends house and today sunday in between watching football we bolted the bed down and began to unblot the old trhee speed trans and assorted crap from it. The thing is starting to look like a truck again. Now we batten down the hatches and wait for whats left of jeanne to come this way

I went junkyarding too this weekend. I scored a inside release setup for my Blazer, so I don't have to rig up a handle behind the bumper again to clear the billet grille. I also found a few good door hinges, and nice grey kick panels as well. Pulled the rear bumper and assorted goodies off of the rear in anticipation of fixing the quarters this week. My new fenders, hinges, hood, doors and lights all made it too. Looks like my project is getting ready to start, after next weekend.

I put in a new back window with tint. Mounted a new dashpad, painted the doorpanels black and some other small stuff

went to my HS football game, and like a true fan, stood in the rain the entire night. Then went to a party, came home around 12:15. Saturday went to the NSU Demons game, and it was a ball. Sunday i watched the NASCAR race, the Braves game, AND the New Orleans Saints game all at the same time. My driver took the points lead, the Braves won, and the Saints pulled off a W
Then i washed and detailed the truck.

Removed all the emissions junk from the truck and plugged all the holes with brass. Looks a lot cleaner under there now with all those darn vacuum and AIR lines gone.

Friday pulled the engine on the 82 to see what internal trubs it had. We thought we threw a rod bearing, but turned out it was a bad wristpin on #1. New piston and rings won't be in till Monday.
One nice thing is I did find out the engine is what the PO told me. It is fairly new enegine. Everything is like new inside with almost no wear. .40 over pistons and crank is .10. Other than what I think was a female race driver, the engine is sound. She knows if she breaks it again, she'll be walking a long time because dad will use the 82 for parts for other projects . Saturday I cleaned all the engine surfaces so it'll be ready when the parts get in. Steamed the engine compartment out to make it a bit neater in there. Not spending the time to repaint it now because the daughter has to do something on her truck. Today was good old homework day. Dang I'll be glad when this semester is over!!!

Relocated my battery to the driver's side of my truck, converted my old battery tray into my air cleaner mount, installed the air cleaner. Also started installing my dual electric fans, but dropped my drill and punched a hole in my rad (DOH) I'll have to install the rad from my 76, and hope that it doesn't have a hole in it too... This next week I plan to get the rest of the TPI equipment that I can install in, right down to the wiring harness, also plan to get my dual exhaust installed along with plumbing the rest of my new fuel system in.

Saturday was oil change and transmition flush. I also replaced the strikers for the doors. They shut so much nicer now!
Sunday I thought I would work on the wiper fluid pump (has not worked scence I have owned the truck). I went to a couple of auto places and no one had the replacement. Ended up getting a aftermarket generic pump that looked simple enough. Cut wires hooked it up....still no fluid. But now my wipers wont turn off! Got my buddy next door to come over (he works for the city fixing the police cars) and we tried everything...no luck. Ended up taking the new unit off and hooking everything back the way it was. Still no fluid but at least now my wipers turn off. Guess I will search for org replacement. |

Hooters at home
Was busy, so only got to Drive the truck.
My kids' 15th birthday was Saturday and we asked what he wanted. He said he wanted to go to HOOTERS. Well, none in town, so we asked him what would be better than Hooters. He said "Hooters at Home!" Guess what he got... Hooters at home!! My wife hooked up a gal from work that used to work at Hooters to come over and waitress for my son and his buddies IN FULL REGALIA!! Shorts, Tanky, et al!!! (will post pics soon!) I've never seen him smile with teeth before. He even hugged his old man!! God, we ROCK!! He had us 1 hour the pics so he could prove it at school today. He'll be a legend! Back to the truck next week. -Dave

I started working on my '77 Cheyenne. Let's see I tore the wrecked front crossmenber off. Then started cleaning 26 years of grease and sand off the frame. Only to find the frame is cracked were the steering box bolts up. Then I find that the frame is also broke where the sway bar bolts on. So I have my work cut out for me on this one. But one thing nice is it keeps my a$$ out of the house. Wife and I are getting a divorce.

I finally got the tinted windows in the side of my 80 Blazer 2wd. Had them in the garage for about 3 weeks. They are factory tint out of a 1990. Looks much better. Now I need to darken the door windows.
Will get my son's digital and get a pic. Cheese, sorry to hear that. Hope it works out reasonably. Doug Last edited by loblazer; 09-29-2004 at 03:25 PM. |

Smoothed out a gate for a 97 Silverado.
Gonna start stripping the truck and selling parts on ebay. Hey Ken what kind of room do the Colorados have? I'm thinking of looking into a crew cab sport. Last edited by Izzy; 09-29-2004 at 04:47 PM. |
