Got her naked today

Wife and I took the cab off this morning. Mounted some tires on the old wheels and now she is ready to have the drivetrain pulled.

Thanks guys. The wife is a real trooper on this stuff. Going to get it on the trailer and to the car wash next.

The leaves are gone from the walnut trees. Really changing fast. Beans will start coming out this week. Real early for them.

Amazonia is in the Northwest part of the state. Along the Missouri River, next to Kansas just short of Iowa and Nebraska by 90 miles, North of KC by 65 miles

Hey Kevin that looks good man!
Again I must say I wish I had a space like that to work in.
How long will this project take? Maybe I'll see a finished truck in august 2005...

Cya,
Edmond

Edmond. I hope it is that quick but I doubt it. Got the drivetrain pulled today. Ready to roll the frame out and hit the car wash.

ahhh...I remember the ole car wash days!! I bet the car wash owner STILL remembers me, lol. Finally convinced the wife that all them quarters could be going to my own power washer, of course I told her I needed it to powerwash the old paint off the house so that made it a done deal for me!
makin good progress on the truck too, Kevin.

Still on the diet

Pulled the drivetrain last night and loaded on the trailer today. Heading to the carwash aftr work tomorrow. Then it is home to the grinder. Have some welding to do, some cutting to do and then finish the strip job. Take to the sandblasters next.
Here's a thought. I have a friend that just rebuilt his Jeep from the ground up. His frame was junk so he bought an aftermarket galvanized frame. Looks really nice.
My company sends stuff to the galvanizer all the time. Hot dip. What would you all think of a galvanized frame? I would have to have all my modifications done. Only want to dip once you know. Speak up.

I'm willing to bet that when that truck rolled off the assembly line, the workers at the plant would never have imagined the cab of the truck would one day be sitting in the bed.

I will add a bit of weight. Any threaded holes have to be protected or chased later. No bolts may be left on or they will get soldered in. The acid dipping prior to galvanizing is capable of causing hydrogen embrittlement if extensive pickling is required. Personally I think it's a great idea as long as you don't mind another 40 or 50 lbs of weight.
