Parts available for 67-72 Blazers?
I'm looking at buying a 67-72 Blazer and wondering how difficult parts are to find. I currently have a '75 Blazer and sometimes parts are difficult to find for it, even though on that year there are a lot that are common up to '87.

MC, having just bought a 71 Jimmy "project", running gear is easy as are some body parts. Trim can be a problem as well as some interior parts. Would not discourage however as servicibility is really great in that most things are similar to or identical to the trucks and we have lots of experts to help. Key consideration has to be the body especially the windshield support, the inner rockers or tubs, and the rust penetration all over. Everything else is fairly easy and relatively inexpensive. Doing it again, I would pay the price for a truly rust free project verses a Frankenstein fixer. Good Luck---Huck

I agree with the concept of starting with a rust free vehicle. But is it really possible to find a rust free thirty year old truck anymore? I've lived all my life east of the Mississippi, from Michigan to Florida, and eventually everything seems to rust.

I would look for the 67 or the 68 model blazer, they are the rarest of models-lol.

I agree with rustfree or as close as possible. The most expensive part of restoring any classic vehicle is the body and paint. It is also the part a hobbyist is least likely to be able to do all of on their own.So it usually saves big to spend on a good body even if you can get a free one that needs work.

Blazers are great! You can find them rust free but you might have to travel to some dryer climates, like Arizona, Nevada or Texas. I bought my truck last summer and it is virtually rust free. I did find some in the floor board under the gas pedal, but it seems to be confined to that one spot. There are a lot of great resources for parts. Mostly, this board. ColoradoK5.com is another good resource.
By the way, I think that what robby is trying to say is that the first year for the Blazer was a '69. There are stats on CK5 that say how many of each year were produce. ------------------ '69 K-5 Blazer - 350/TH350, 6" lift, 35" tires Bothell, WA
