long tube v8 headers
What brand/model of long tube headers fit well on our trucks? Looking for 1 3/4 " tubes.

I'm not sure who makes these headers but how much horsepower are you running? We sell Schoenfeld headers at work and have a chart to help us recommend sizes for customers. I checked and they don't make headers for the street nor our trucks. The chart shows:
1-5/8" 375-500 HP 1-3/4" 500-625 HP 1-7/8" 625-750 HP 2" 750-875 HP Good luck finding some!

What engine do you have? Small block or big block? Auto or manual? (also, is it on the right mounts in the right location?)

Around 400 hp is where it will be. 1 5/8 could work or 1 3/4 since I have some thoughts of putting a power adder down the road. Alot of the impy and f-body guys go 1 3/4 so thats why I was leaning that way.
Longhorn; Its a smallblock 350 (LT1) with an auto. Using the stock mounts in the V6 location.

I can say my hooker super comps fit nicely, but my small block is in the right spot...no idea about in the inline position. I think crazy longhorn may have the same headers but in the rear position...but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Yup, I am in the rear position My sb is mounted in 6/250 spot. I run Hooker comps (1 5/8 tube, 2 1/2" collector). These headers will work for stick or auto, in either position.....auto trans should not cause too many issues either way, but a stick trans in I 6 position will take a few mods to fit the clutch linkage crazyL

Hedman 1-3/4" fit my 66 which is a little tighter than the 67-72 trucks. The app for mine is 67-87 I believe.

heddman # 60990. I got mine used from another board member. 1 5/8 long tubes. my problem with them is that I going to go low & they come out below the frame. I will try to get some pics today @ work & post them so you can see just where the hang.

Try Summit or Jegs on the Hookers.....they get a bit pricey coated tho! They were about 140 painted , on the comps.....super comps will run a tad more, & figure to add about 2 bills for coated. Best of luck, crazyL
