Stellar. I'd leave it flat black to. Maybe put some pinstriped flame licks. I saw that on a car at the Strret Rod Nationals and it looks killer.

Flames take lots of time, paitents, and tallent. Without all 3 of these, they'll look like crap.
This is why I went another route with my flat black ride... A bad-ass flame job...nice and simple, not over powering... A slightly different aproach on the old school stickers... I like the red wheels on this one, but personally, the flames aren't quite right. Then of course, i have to throw in the pic of how I've been thinking of doing up the hot rod lincoln. |

very nice truck! those larger 17s and the lowered stance really set the truck off. wheels and stance are the two things that either make or break a truck, or car, In my opinion. good work!

Yes, I do remember the beginning......that old truck has really come a long way IMO, I like the paint you have.....it just screams HOTROD! I have really thought about the flat black look on the old longhorn.....maybe a little flame , or pinstripe job & calling it done. where you are right now , is an "old school" hotrod.....built, not bought Many yrs back, I remember the old home brew rods(everybody in the hood had one in the garage). these were all "bucks down" rods.....very special.....not like the high dollar stuff you see on the tv today. you have a nice truck....congrats for sticking with it, through all the skinned nuckles, & "sore wallet".....you have found the true "fever" of the sport best of luck, crazyL

THAT'S IT!!! I'VE HAD IT!! I can hear my Longhorn rusting away while you build that awesome truck, you just gave me that little incentive to finally work on it, Awesome job and keep it up and leave it that color, at least until you get bored!
And what drop kit did you use? Quote:

I've been following your progress since I became a member here. It looks outstanding. Great choice on everything you've done to it.
That's a new intake though, isn't it? I seem to remember your engine used to look just like a Corvette LT-1 engine.

Nice truck. Where did you get the wheels from? I also have 8 lug and was looking for wheels that dont show the actual lug nuts. Very nice truck.
Thanks. John. |
