Talking New 2 board / my truck story

Hello to everybody,

I have a 1970 c 10 lwb, 6cyl 3 spd that I am restoring/modifying. Planning on the usual stuff, 5 lug axles, 350 or some other small block.

Looking at a Keisler 5 spd tranny kit for my truck and wondering if anybody done this? Must do the usual body repairs, going to add a/c and probably 4 wheel disc brakes.

My grandfather bought the truck new in 1970 and I can remember playing in it as a child and remember a faint "new" smell.
The truck became mine in the fall of 1983 when he passed away and the truck had 42,000 original miles. It was my transportation through high school and my first year of college.

Now it is time to make it better than new.

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi. I can't help you with the tranny question, but you came to the right place to find out. Post some pics of your truck when you get a chance.

Welcome to the board. Glad to hear that you're going to save another one. Where you from? Got any pics of you truck? Go to the "cp user" section and fill out the signature section. This is a great place to hang out. Lolife99.

Welcome. Keisler makes some nice kits but also check with 5 Speed Transmissions.com just to compare prices. You'll be ok with either of them.

You don't have to have your own website to post pix.

I got my '69 the same way. Grandpa bought it new in '69 and I inherited it in the early 90's.

Oh, welcome from Central Mississippi, too.
