Heres an interesting idea. Big block powered 1T crewcab shortbed. Guess you would use it for a tow vehicle.

I was wondering how it would look as a lowered stepper 1/2 t.

I like it. I wouldn't mind having a truck like that. I'm getting tired of the constricted space of the regular cab, and my next truck will definitely be an extended or crew cab. I always thought that the single wheel long bed crew cabs of the 73-87 vintage looked kind of silly, like they're too long. The dually models look great, though, and I wouldn't mind to have one of those, but I don't need the expense of 6 tires, and I don't need that much truck. I do need a 3/4 ton, so a single wheel 3/4 or 1 ton shortbed crew cab would work really well for me.

Looks like that truck was probably originally equipped with a diesel. Or maybe the dash has been swapped out. It has the extra 'glow plugs' and 'water in fuel' lights above the speedometer and fuel guage.

It would make a great truck. The limited cargo capacity of a short stepper and the miserable gas mileage of a carbed big block.

The ride might improve over a short stepper though, since the wheel base would be longer.

Just use a suburban frame and the CC cab. It looks good with some 44" TSLs, too

My neighbor's truck. Take a 1 ton, and a 1/2 ton, some welding......you get the picture.

Also, he's a GM dealership parts guy, so the truck has every single piece of NOS part available on it. Doors, dash, trim pieces, fenders, hinges, tailgate, you get the idea I'm sure, it's a new truck.

These pictures were taken a couple of years ago when he was first putting it together. Since then, he's found even more new, nicer stuff for it, so it looks much better today than it did then.

Thats the truck I've wanted forever!!!! Especially the bottom one.
I had to settle for this one instead, but if I could find a late 80's to early 90's 4x4 crew swb I'd have to liquidate it......

Dang, I could really use a pickup like that. I have outgrown my 1/2 ton in about a year. And it is going to get worse as time goes on and my brother-in-law and I make a run at becoming contractors. Hopefully in the next few years, we will be putting on rodeo shows all over ND.
