Need a Insurance Estimate due to Hurricane Ivan

I had a tree fall on my house and take out the side of my trailer before it landed. I do not have pics to post but I will describe it. My insurance covers trailers but they are having a hard time puting a value on it because it is a 68 truck converted trailer.

The bed has zero rot with minor surface rust. No dings or dents (until now).
Absolutley no bondo with original paint. All trim atached and in good shape. I was planning on using the bed in the feature for a show truck. I guess I will have to searchfor another one when the time comes.

I you guys could give an acurate estimate I can send this link to my adjuster.
I have sold beds in the past for 3-400 and they were not in this good of shape. Any help is apreciated.

Thanks,
Mario

P.S.
Myself and the family went here when the tree hit and the house is livable.

Sorry to hear about the damage.I'm glad you and your family are ok.

I'm not sure what you are asking for,are you asking for an estmate on the value of the bed itself??

Yes Ray the bed only. The frame, rear end and everything else is fine. Just the sid of the bed is smashed. I know the value of it but I need other people to estimate the value so I can send this link to my adjuster to get compensatied for my loss.

Mario, i'm guessing its an 8foot bed?if so if its rustfree with original paint I would say $700 on up depending if there is any dings or dents and also condition of the floor.I have seen super nice original paint 8foot beds go for $1500-$2000 with no dings or dents with perfect metal floors. Its hard to say without seeing yours.Hope this gives you an idea.

Thanks Ray. I told the adjuster 600. It is hard to get an estimate from a home insurance agent on a trailer that was a truck. I guess I could take it to the body shop and see how much it will cost to repair it but they would just want to replace it with an aftermarket bed side. That is my point. The value of orig verse aftermarket. If I could post a pic I would, but my vitage pc will not load my digi cam program.
Thanks again,
Mario

Is it short or longbed? a new short bed side is 409.00 plus shipping around 75.00 + around 12 hours labor @ 35.00 to replace, prep and paint. used rustfree short bedside 250.00 + around 18 hours to replace, prep and paint. If you can email a pic to me i can fax your agent a quote on our letterhead with our Florida id#
