67-70 vs 71-72 front crossmembers

Are the crossmembers the same,and the control arms different.Or is it all different.Anybody know for sure.And ,whats different.Thanks,Mike

Crossmember is the same. A-arms are the same. Different: spindles, ball joints, tie rods,and center link. The "routing" of the steel lines for the rubber brake hoses is different. You will need a different master cylinder and proportioning valve. If you can get an entire front crossmember to "rob" all the parts from,... that would be the easiest. You can also use a complete crossmember assembly from the 73-87 era,... BUT you will need to use ALL of the 73-87 components. (rubber bushed a-arms, and cheaper, more readily available parts) You can also swap out the entire crossmember if you so desire. Search this site for disc brake conversions. Alot of good information.

The little tabs where the brake lines mount are on the front of 71-72 crossmembers and the rear of 67-70 crossmembers.

It's a minor thing that you need to know about when doing a disc swap. The hoses can be a little tricky to work through.
