Leds won't flash

I've had the rear leds and side marker leds for some time but today I tried yellow 1157 leds in the front and now none of the lights will flash if the parking lights or headlights are on. I have an electronic flasher and checked all the grounds. I know that the leds don't draw as much current and if I put incandescent bulbs back in the front turn/parking everything works- but I would like to use leds all around. Isn't there something in the newer cars and trucks they use when there are leds all around?
Thanks much!

Odd, with the electronic flasher, it should blink even if it is just one LED and nothing else.
What brand of flasher is it?

It was a genuine "Pep Boys" Andy, so I guess its a cheap one. I was thinking of switching it out, they're cheap enough, I suppose.

I know the NAPA ones are pretty good, I think they are kinda pricey though.
But on my 69, it has LEDs in the back, and old bulbs up front. When I removed the front bulbs, it would still blink on just the LED load.

We have a napa here, I' ll give it a shot.I sure hate to give up and turn it over to the auto electric shop, but I'm starting to get baffled. I thought there was a post about this some time ago, saying something about 'rzengineerining?" having a setup for all led lights to replace the electronic flasher.Back to the drawing board I guess. Thanks Andy. Glad you're back on the board helping the rest of us.

68wsbc406-
I counted the leds this morning, I was way off on my guess.
There are 168 leds and the board measures 2 3/8" wide and 8" tall
Hope it helps
My neighbor in Perry Hall- thanks & have a good weekend
Curbie

Where ae y'all getting your LED tail lights, etc?

When I went with all LED's on my motorcycle, I had to add a resistor to the circuit. Basically, the LED's had so little draw on the circuit that the flasher couldn't sense and flash.

Hey Curbstone, I would follow this lead that grendel suggested. I am a Harley guy myself and though I haven't gone to LEDs yet, I have read many tech article in the bike mags that address this issue. I am thinking a resistor will solve your problems.

Good luck in finding the little electric gremlin.

Grendel is right.
LED's DO NOT draw enough amps to work with a reg flasher, even an electronic flasher didn't work for me.
You need the reg bulbs or as sugested use a resistor to help activate the flasher.

You might try www.radiantz.com . They specialize in LEDs for motorcycles but since both are twelve volt and since a tailight is a tail light and a blinker a blinker they probably have a fix for you. If not, I bet they point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Update
I just spoke to radiantz(thanks Nixon) they were very helpful. I ordered thier "flasher". As soon as I get it wired in I'll get get back to you all or do a FAQ. The leds I bought for the front have several yellow leds facing straight ahead, and about four small leds facing back into the housing. I painted the housing interior with chrome paint to bounce more light. If I can make it all work out, it should be nice setup. Thanks for all the help
Curbie
