Best Chevy Truck Story Ever
I am wondering what kind of stories do people out there have for their truck. I think my best one is I have a 63 shortfleet. When I got it the cab had a huge hole on the rain gutter on top. I decided to just trash it and get a new cab. I shopped around for a while as I was doing the frame restroration. Well just so happens one showed up on ebay in pheonix arizona. I put the starting bid of 25 buck on it and was never challenged. I ended up getting it for 25 bucks, but I live in louisiana and it would be expensive for me to go get it, so I had to shop again for a shipper. I got in touch with a freight company that wanted 950 dollars to ship it. I saved the money for a period of 6 months(the whole time the cab is still in AZ). Well I paid the guy a hundred bucks to put bubble wrap on it and place it on 2 pallets nailed together. I called the shipper and they picked it up, so I waited anxiously for it to arrive and even had to take a day off work to help the guy unload it. Well when he shows up I ask how much do I owe you. He said 375. I couldn't believe it a six hundred dollar difference from the quote. Well I unloaded it and found it had a nasty dent near the gas tank fill and had two rust spots in the floor. ALso some genius drilled holes in the top for speakers. but didn't know when to stop( holes went all the way out of the top of the cab). But as I said the cab was in AZ ( no rain). I still made out like a bandit and now have a rust fre cab patched up and only needing the outer rockers to be complete. Oh yeah even the dash had never been cut.
