pcv valve doesn't fit!

I am changing the orginal valve covers to GM performance ones, now I noticed that the pcv valve doesn't fit into designated hole!. It is too long!. There is some knid of structure under the valve cover which doesn't allow pcv valve sit right. Any suggestiions would appreciated. Thanks.

More than likely hitting the baffle Do you have a real short grommet? Some pcv grommets stick up 1/4 of an inch or more Might look for a thicker grommet.
