I hate to say this but, being as you are in Ca. I would guess the check will bounce if Arnold don't sign it.Also remember that the cop will probably get tax credits for crushing a smog ride.

I'm definately no expert but trying to look at it from a pessimistict piont of view. I'd say about 7 grand is what the insurance will say and believe me I know you probably have more in her than that. That is without wheels and tires or paint that wasn't on your list. I'd be asking for something in the 12,000 ball park which I'd say is fair but what do I know? You definately got the pictures and receipts to show so I'd get a lawyer if you have to. I hate going that route but it looks like you had a sweet ride at one point.

I am with Allstate and my agent told me that if my truck was totaled, that they would look in local papers and see what other trucks in the same (before wreck) condition are going for. I know you may not find any in Modesto but S.F. and Sacramento they always have some for sale. It may not be what you have invested but they look at what you can buy another one for. Good Luck.

Think that method of appraising value is BS. It's rare to find a truck of that caliber for sale. There out there, you might find 1 every 4-6 months. I think the collector car insurance agencys are most favorable in appraised value. Check out this link. Think they start out at like $250 for an appraisal. It's all they do and they will look good in court if it comes to that. http://www.autoappraisal.com/

Don't forget your time...it has value also, don't be shy about asking for what is due you.

Good luck

I don't think he could claim time. What takes him a day to do might only take a pro 2 hours. (Not trying to slight your skills David, just an example). It's the end product that is valued, not the money/time you sweated into it. I guess anything is worth a try though.
