Need close up pics of shaved drip rails

We will be doing this to my cab soon and were a little concerned about the area where the piller meets the drip rail and the front of the door area. They seem to be slightly different deapths in this spot.

So can you guys post some real close pics of the shaved areas of the drip rail for reference?

Thanks all!

Reid

Give me a week or two and I'll get you some pictures of mine. I can't do it right now because due to lack of space in my garage the fiberglass one piece front end is on top of the cab. I'm working on a deal for some wheels so hopefully I'll have them in a week or two tops then I can put the cab and front end on the frame.

Excellent man! I noticed how you just cut out sections and welded it up piece by piece. That is how we talked about doing it, so thing don't move. It looks like it took a bit of work at the top ouside corners of the windshield. That is the area we were worried about. How did you fill that triangular hole? Did you just fill it with weld?

I didn't do the job personally....I know in the corner where you see the little piece missing...that was rusted and a new piece of metal put in. As far as making the posts match the top, that is something that took some time. Was a matter of looking at the other truck I had at the time, and deciding what the best fix would be. I think he just used a grinder to get it close, then a little body work to make it look the way it does. Takes a lot of time, and patience....That is why I had someone else do it!!! From listening to others, this is not for the novice...you can very easily ruin the cab and have to send it off to the scrap yard. My advice....if you have not done something like this before, I would recommend taking it to someone who has the experience. Just my $.02. Anyway, good luck and I hope one way or another you get her shaved!!
