I've been cleaning out the garage lately with the hope that I'll be able to get a vehicle into it for winter. Have to sort through all my spare truck parts and keep the best stuff. Anyway, I've got a long fleet bed with a wood floor. The bed is in good restorable shape - no major rust and its pretty strait all around. The wood and bed strips will have to be replaced, but the supports are good. Anyway - a good restorable piece.

What is is it worth?

Like with most things it is worth what the buyer will pay for it. A lot of factors
determine value, any repairs done like bondo in the sides? Just one factor for example. I have seen boxes in fine original shape sell for up to a thousand dollars. Good luck if you sell, Mike

There isn't a bit of bondo on it. There are a few dents and the surface rust but the important parts are strait - even the front panel.

SHOOT... I'VE GIVEN AWAY RUSTFREE LONG FLEET BEDS, JUST TO GET THEM OUTA MY YARD. I,VE ALSO SOLD RUSTFREE SHORTFLEET BEDS FOR $250.00 SO I GUESS THERES SOMETHING TO THIS LOCATION THEORY. I GUESS BACK IN THE RUSTBELT, THEY WOULD BRING CONSIDERABLY MORE.

i just sold a solid rustfree long fleet metal floor bed with all the lights and wiring harness plus good used top and bottom trim with nos taillight trim ,without tailgate for $400
no bondo no patchpanels no rot anywhere just a few minor bumps and a little surface rust

Well seeing how I'm looking for a good bed I have found them for 150$ I found a 67 or a 68 that has only some surface rust with a metal floor with no dents or bondo for 400$ A member here has a 72 for 350.

well they're practically worthless....but you put it on a flatbed and send it to me, i'll reluctantly take it off your hands :p

seriously though, around here, one in good shape could be anywhere from $800-1200 cdn. , i'm guessing it would probably be around the same in manitoba

I've been trying to locate a long flleet wood bed here in the southeast for about a year with no luck. Only steel floors here!!

Metal vs wood is a good question
It would be a good thread to start
of the board members what is more common or preferred and why.
I myself prefer the wood for a couple of reasons.
First I think on a finished truck they are just more dressy(IS THAT A WORD)
Secondly around the midwest steel floors rust so quickly you can't find them or mantain them so wood is easier to find and replace for me

Yeah, not a GM, but I love it. 1969 GMC 32,000 - fix, drive, relax, fix... 2019 BMW R1250 GSA - Yahoooooooo 1979 Honda GL 1000 - retro touring at its best. Past: '05 Sierra 4x4 - Had 270,000 KM and running well when it was written-off by a stop sign runner. '94 F-150 from the "F word" company. I'll admit it...good truck. Sold what was left of it for $800 to a guy who came to pick it up at 11:00 PM with cash in hand. Hmm. '79 Sierra Grande (Black) organ donor - perfect rebuildable 4-bolt 350 and a good TH350. '76 Sierra Grande (Orange) - hate isn't too strong a word. Kid who bought it turned it into a hot rod. '68 C-10 R.I.P. - Dad's old truck...too far gone to resurrect. '59 C-50 - with hoist. Truck is gone, wife isn't. Nuff said.
