Change of heater fan box

Hey guys. I have a 78 1/2 ton 4x4. It was wrecked in the rt frt, breaking the fan/condenser housing in several places. I have a fan housing fron a 79 non-a/c pickup that I want to put in the a/c housings place. I've been searching, but not gotten an answer to my question. I have sheetmetal to put over the extra holes, but how much will I need to modify the non-a/c housing to clear the heater hoses? Or is it not possible. I am needing heat this winter.
