I dont' know if this is the right place to be asking this...so no big deal if it gets moved to another board.

What is the average price for sandblasting a frame???
Who's had it done and what has it cost?
with the control arms/crossmembers

I've got a guy here in NC thats gonna do mine after i shorten it for $60-70.
He is doing frame, crossmember, & control arms. This guy also makes signs and such so he doesn't rely on sandblasting for his sole income.
Trying find someone self employed like this would probably your cheapest route.

I did mine myself with the use of a good friends blaster and shop, but I have a friend that just paid $200 to have his 69 Chevelle frame blasted. That was by a shop in the K.C. area.

It's actually a Fabricated frame that I made for my '33. The reason i'm asking is cause it is all new 2x4 steel and I want to blast it to get the surface uniform before painting (also advised by POR-15 to do this) something about the coating on the metal and the weld areas or something...i don't know

but the frame is much smaller than my '69 frame..and I have a front straigh axle that i want done too...so i'm hopeing somewhere around $150 or so. I could do it myself but i don't know if my compressor can keep up..it is a 7horse dual stage 60gallon upright??? and it seems everytime i use a blaster it clogs up on me no matter how many water filters i use

is it possible that the sand grit is too heavy and clogs the tips??? - i usually have to clean the tip out and it will work for a few minutes and then do the same thing.

Any Info would be great

more than likely it is your compresser

Mine would do the same thing all the time

I had a frame, cab, bed and axles done out here in Ca for $300

Our sandbalsting cabinet was clogged up all summer due to moisture in the media. My boss has a guy near him in Stratford who is pretty cheap. I will find out who it is and tell on Sunday when I see you.

Purchased this truck when I was 17. I started the rebuild (or take apart) in 1993. I have drug it around all over the country in pieces. Finally back on the road in 2021. "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far."
