looking for a project, whats a fair price for 47-54 p/u?

I`m looking for another project truck. I was originally looking for a 67-72 but I`ve always liked the 47-54 style. Whats a fair price for a complete 3 window 1/2 ton shortbed? I don`t care if it`s running but I don`t know what these trucks are worth and what I should be looking at price wise. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Here a non running 47-54/55 with a fair body is worth anywhere between $800 - $1,500 (or more if the owner thinks he has something somebody really wants). Here, you are lucky to find a running 47-55 with a good body for $2,000....most are around $3,000 and up. Id imagine they are cheaper where you live. Or so Ive heard from people that live in Cali.

*Keep in mind that when I say good/fair body I dont mean one that has been fixed and primed down. I mean a body that is restorable, and not compeletly worthless. But like I said, you should be able to find one cheaper in Cali then I can here.

Thanks for the reply. I haven`t even really looked for one yet, just wondering what kind on money I`ll be spending. Thanks

I paid 300 for a 3600 1949 chev pickup. it has a six that runs, but smoke alittle, 4 speed tranny and the body isnt too bad. In fact I have just removed the doors, fenders, amd seat. Im getting ready to swap it to a 88 S10 frame.
The 49 chassis is for sell and everything is there except the body panels.

hi anthony-
i have a pretty nice 1950 gmc half ton 7ft bed 3 window that is all original except the tires and it has an antique-ish hydraulic dump set up under the bed that is totally invisible when down. the pump is operated by a push/pull knob on the dash and runs off the fan belt. runs pretty good and registered. probably could drive it home from here. original dark green paint and apple green wheels. $2500.
thanx-
tom
