On pre 73 trucks, it's just below the master cylinder up on the firewall.

thanks for the pictures guys. a few questions. what is the spliter thingy in the first picture on the front line of the master cylinder? the second picture looks like the one i am going to be putting on, but why does it have holes in it to bolt to the frame? shouldnt it look like the third picture? compared to the other 2 pictures the second one looks backwards with the lines going from front to back. sorry if these are stupid questions. which lines are what on a prop valve. thanks guys
Ben

My 72 originally had the rear reservoir larger than the front for the disk brakes so the rear reservoir brake line is routed to the front of the prop valve. Then to the front brakes. the front reservoir is smaller and goes to the rear of the prop valve to the rear brakes.

On mine yes, But where did your Master cylinder come from if both reservoirs are the same size it wouldn't matter which one they came off. but the lines you have drawn are the routing on mine. back prop valve to rear brakes, front bottom to front brakes. The assembly manual shows a different setup than mine but it really doesn't show the 72 well in the back of the book but shows the 67-70 pretty good .
The disk brakes use more fluid when they wear so thats why the disk master cyl. is larger.

The spliter on my pic is because my truck was set up for trailer brakes. When you hit the brakes it sends fluid to the trailer brake box to activate the trailer's brakes electricly...
