FS:72 GMC/Chevy Bucket Seats

I have a set of black 72 Chevy/GMC bucket seats with matching console that I am looking to sell. The seats are in good condition with the drivers side having a small tear were the lower/upper seat meet. The middle console is black but was originally teal color(previous owner painted it). I am looking to get $300.00 for the set and would like to sell them locally(I am located in the DFW,Tx area) but can ship if not sold locally. Here area few pictures I took of them a while back. If interested in them send me an E-mail to stephen_poe@hotmail.com.

Well--I see alot of ppl looking for bucket seats but cant seem to get any interest in these. From what I have seen for sale, these are in way better shape and cheaper. Am I missing something or is the post just getting bumped down to fast.

Well, with some people listing each and every little part separately (like Ebay), instead of all in one post, the board is moving too fast...but after several TTTs most people have probably seen your seats...so...
1. You won't ship, so you have to find someone local...very limiting.
2. Anyone buying those will want to recover and they may be worried about what is under those redone covers. They would rather see original seats or bare foam.
3. What is the condition of the console? Is it near perfect? or are there some cracks or breaks anywhere?
4. It may be time to lower the price or try again later in a month or so.

Maybe I should offer shipping and out them on E-bay, the set in the auction above still have several days left and are already at $300.00. The set I have are not only look better but are in much better shape.

Seats

Those brown ones on Ebay were mine, I tried to sell them for 375 bucks but couldnt get it, That is what they brought on Ebay was 300, they didnt go any higher, I offered them here on the board for about two weeks and had some interest but they didnt sell, They went to Florida, I think shipping them UPS was about 125 bucks, they went in two big boxes, If you cant sell them, Id lower my price a little bit also.

I shipped several sets of seats cheap by Greyhound. Stack them one on top the other in the box with the console and brackets in the middle. I shipped a set from Dallas to L.A. for $69 and they got there in 24 hours...let's see UPS or Fed-ex do that.

Just a couple notes on shipping:
FedEx Ground service is considerably cheaper for heavy or large items than UPS. UPS isn't bad if you can stay in the size/weight limit.
I use the "shorty wardrobe" box from uhaul (around $6 brand new), and you can pack 2 buckets in there in the 6-9 position. Saves a lot of hassle trying to find a box that fits, etc.
The box is within UPS and FedEx size dimensions and 2 buckets are just under the 75 pound limit.

Shipping

Im in Northern Minnesota, I ship most things UPS because there is a store in my town, if I wanted to ship stuff by greyhound or by truck, Id have to drive an hour south to the terminal, Ill keep my local businesses going here, buyer of the parts pays shipping, shipping about 4-500 packages, UPS has only screwed up on one or two of them, I ship bucket seats off quite often, I havent shipped a bench seat off yet although I have a Mint Black one on Ebay right now...

shipping seats

I have also found fedex ground alot cheaper than ups, I have shipped buckets and bench seats with them without any problems I sent a bench seat from NY to Utah for about $65 I just make the box around the seat useing sheet cardboard so it will be as small as possible you just have to dis connect the back from the base and lay them flat together. On the buckets I put them in the 6-9 position but I remove the bases wrap them and put in between the seats to make it a little smaller . NY to missouri for about $50 bucks.

I have found DHL is cheaper than both UPS or Fedex on larger items. Just a thought, I shipped a set from Arizona to Texas for less than $50.00. Good Luck

Greyhound is very reasonable to ship those big pieces as well.

Well---now that I have advice on many ways to ship the seats, let see if dropping the price helps sell them. I found another project to move onto and need to sell the seats for some of the funds. I am now asking $300.00 plus shipping for the seats/console, I edited my first post with price change also.
