Question 4X4 question

I have a '88 k1500 and the front diff will not engage.
There is no power going to the actuator and I was wondering if there is a switch on the transfer case or somewhere else that is activated when shifted into 4X4 to then activate the acuator on the differential.
I checked the fuse as I beleive that the acutator is on the same fuse as the heater/ac in the fuse box.
I am completely confused on what it could be.
Help please!!!!!!!
Thanks

Seems like those trucks have an actuator located in the diff housing that can go bad. Funny looking thing all it really is is big plunger to engage the front end, check with your local dealer about it.

I did not read closely, thought you were having problems with the actuator it's self. Have you traced wires back, see if you can gt a chilton or haynes for this model and locate the wiring diagrams.
